Pandya is still recovering from cramps he sustained during the Super Fours match against Sri Lanka and has been ruled out as a precautionary measure, with a busy white-ball schedule ahead, including next year's T20 World Cup.

Pandya's absence is a significant blow to India's team balance, as he serves as a key middle-order batsman and a specialist seamer alongside Jasprit Bumrah.

To fill the gap, Rinku Singh will come into the lower middle order for his first game of the tournament, while Shivam Dube returns to the lineup after being rested.

Arshdeep Singh, who played in the last game, does not keep his spot.

At the toss, Pakistan's captain Salman Ali Agha expressed his satisfaction with batting first, despite losing the toss. "Definitely happy to bat first.

We are very excited and looking forward to this game," he said. "We haven't played a perfect game and hopefully we play one today." Pakistan will field an unchanged XI for the final.

India's captain, Suryakumar Yadav, won the toss and chose to bowl, citing the conditions at the Dubai International Stadium. "It looks like a good wicket.

The wicket gets better under lights," he commented. "We have been batting well first but we would like to chase today."
