What 'Home of Tomorrow's Champions' is

The programme is aimed at young Saudi men and women aged 15 to 25, and its ambition is broad: to develop the next generation of motorsport professionals, show how many careers exist beyond the driver's seat, and bridge the gap between education and the industry. According to the organisers, it covers fields as varied as engineering, energy, logistics, event management, hospitality, business development, media, public relations, race operations and marketing.

It is delivered through in-person and online workshops, university lectures, specialist sessions with industry experts, and hands-on practical experience. "Home of Tomorrow's Champions was created with a clear vision: to inspire and empower the next generation of Saudi talent by showcasing diverse career opportunities across the motorsport industry," said Batool Alsaeed, Training Manager at ALTAWKILAT.

Motorsport is more physical than it looks

It is easy to assume a driver just sits down and steers. The reality is that motorsport is one of the most physically demanding sports there is. Drivers hold their heads and bodies steady against strong forces through every corner, work in a hot cockpit for long stretches, and stay sharp and reacting fast from lights-out to the chequered flag. That takes a genuine base of fitness — strong neck and core muscles, real cardiovascular endurance, grip and forearm strength, and the kind of focus that only comes when your body is not fading.

How to build a racing-ready base

You do not need a car to start training like an athlete who could one day sit in one. The foundations are the same ones that serve any active young person: full-body strength, a strong midsection, and an engine that does not quit.

  • Core and neck stability. A strong, braced core is what keeps you steady under load — in a race car or anywhere else.
  • Cardiovascular endurance. Long efforts in the heat reward a well-trained heart and lungs. Intervals and steady conditioning both help.
  • Grip and forearms. Controlling a wheel for a full race is a real grip challenge — and grip strength carries over to almost everything.
  • Reaction and focus. These sharpen when you are fit and fresh, not exhausted.

If you are not sure where to begin, our exercise library breaks movements down step by step, and a session or two with one of our certified personal trainers is the fastest way to build a plan around your goals.
