According to Gulf Daily News, the Gadeha Junior camp runs from August 8 to September 3, 2026, at Exhibition World Bahrain. It is held under the directives of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and led by Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, organised by Bahrain's Supreme Council for Youth and Sports alongside the General Sports Authority and the Bahrain Olympic Committee. In other words, this is a serious national investment in young people — not a casual holiday club.
What the Qidha Junior camp is
The programme is described as combining physical, mental and behavioural development. Shaikh Khalid has said the aim is to invest in the potential of Bahraini youth — building character and instilling discipline, responsibility, teamwork and a sense of national belonging. Coverage across Bahrain, including The Daily Tribune, echoes that focus on discipline, teamwork, self-confidence and life skills, and the camp draws real national attention: it recently hosted a visit from the Kuwaiti youth and sports minister. Across editions it has involved thousands of participants, with a recent batch graduating around 500 of some 2,000 who took part.
Why getting kids active early matters
Strip away the ceremony and the lesson is simple and universal: children who move regularly build coordination, confidence and a relationship with activity that tends to stay with them. A camp is a brilliant spark, but the real win is what happens in the ordinary weeks — the walk to school, the game in the park, the weekend sport. You do not need a parade ground to get the benefit; you need consistency. If your kids are curious about how the movements actually work, our exercise library is a friendly place to learn the basics together.
Make movement a family habit
The easiest way to keep a child active is to be active yourself. Make it social and make it fun: a family walk after dinner, a weekend swim, a kickabout, a class you all do together. Keep it light — the goal at this age is enjoyment and consistency, not performance. For teenagers who want structure or are training for a school sport, a good coach can teach safe technique early and keep it enjoyable; our personal trainers are used to working with younger, newer members.
Options for teens who want more
Older kids often want to train properly, and giving them a real place to do it — rather than a screen — is one of the better decisions a family can make. GymNation offers student memberships so teens can build strength, fitness and good habits in a supported environment. As always with young people, ease them in gradually and keep the focus on movement they enjoy rather than numbers on a scale.
Keep the momentum after the camp
A camp like Gadeha lights the fire; the trick is to feed it. The simplest way to turn a summer of activity into a year-round habit is to make the gym a normal, welcoming part of family life. Come and try a group class together at GymNation Bahrain, and give your kids the same thing the camp gave them — a reason to keep moving.
