GymNation, a leading fitness brand in the UAE, has recently acquired an entire floor of its Motor City gym at Control Tower in Dubai, as well as the floor above where Fitness First Motor City is situated.

This acquisition was made through a deal with National Properties, the real estate arm of National Bonds Corporation.

Tony Jeffries, a bronze medalist in boxing from the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, expressed his enthusiasm about this development.

The gym's expansion project is valued at AED 70 million ($19.58 million) and aims to merge the two floors, extending their current 30,000 square feet space to over 55,000 square feet.

The primary objective of this project is to establish one of the largest and most advanced gyms globally, allowing GymNation to enhance its service offerings.

Insiders indicate that the upgraded facility will include dedicated zones for Reformer Pilates, boxing, wellness, and BLITZ Boutique HIIT, along with the largest recovery center in the UAE, which will offer amenities like saunas, ice baths, sports massage, and assisted stretching.

Additionally, the gym will feature Dubai’s first indoor uphill running track and the Middle East’s first specialized Hyrox Performance Centre.

Responding to this acquisition, Jeffries shared his thoughts on Instagram stories, expressing his inspiration by saying, “This is so inspiring! Being a fitness gym owner myself since 2012, reading this truly inspires me.”

He also lauded GymNation's Founder and CEO, Loren Holland, stating, “What Loren and the team have accomplished is truly next level.

I’m thrilled to partner with this remarkable company, alongside my boxing fitness group class business, @boxingfitnessconnect studio.”

Jeffries further commented, “I don’t think there’s going to be a gym in the world as good as this!! Can’t wait to get back there…”

However, Fitness First has been issued an eviction notice, and the expansion work is expected to commence soon. In the meantime, Holland herself has provided insight into the future plans for the gym.

Loren Holland is planning exciting improvements

Loren Holland, GymNation’s Founder and CEO, recently shared details about the brand’s ambitious expansion in Motor City.

In a statement to Construction Week, Holland highlighted the importance of the AED 70 million investment, stating, “Motor City is one of our top-performing locations, but due to rapid area growth, we’ve outgrown our current capacity.”

Advised by David Abood from Cushman & Wakefield and lawyer Sean Cope from DLA Piper, Holland asserted, “We’re committed to continuously evolving our product to offer world-class facilities at an affordable price.”

This commitment extends beyond the Motor City location, as Holland revealed plans for “exciting enhancements” at various Dubai and Abu Dhabi locations in the future.

While the GymNation expansion project excites local residents, Tony Jeffries appears eager to visit Dubai specifically to train at the revamped gym. Would you like to see GymNation undertake similar initiatives in the US?
