For those who love the outdoors and want to enjoy an intense workout, it might be the perfect time to take part in an obstacle course race (OCR).
The unique draw of OCR is that participants often forget they’re running, as they’re focused on conquering tough, often military-inspired challenges that test both their physical and mental limits. It’s definitely not your usual jog through the park.
If obstacle course racing piques your interest or you’re looking to elevate your performance, a new obstacle course racing brand from the Middle East, Arabian Warrior, could be your next thrilling adventure. Expect dirt and sweat—tears are optional.
What to Know About Arabian Warrior’s OCR Series
Arabian Warrior events are held in different cities across Saudi Arabia. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect.
What does Arabian Warrior offer?
Arabian Warrior provides races for all fitness levels with distances of 5km, 10km, 15km, 20km, and 50km.
There’s also a 1.6km option designed specifically for kids aged five to twelve.
Featuring creatively Arab-themed obstacles of varying difficulty, the events are open to everyone, regardless of skill or fitness level.
Participants can choose to tackle the challenge in the more casual Open Heats (which include options like ladies-only heats and teams of five) or compete in the more formal Age Group Heats, complete with timed runs.
For top-tier competitors, there’s even an elite category, where international OCR athletes will compete head-to-head.
Winners of the competitive heats in each location will secure a spot in the season-ending championship, where the ultimate 2024-25 Arabian Warriors will be crowned and receive substantial prize money.
And it’s not just about the race—a fan village at the finish line provides entertainment and plenty of well-earned food and drink options.
