A new gym in Dubai is on Edition One’s roadmap, with the fitness venture saying it plans to open its first-ever facility in the city. For gym-goers watching new fitness space, equipment and classes arrive across the city, the announcement sits alongside other recent market moves, including the Fitness First Dubai Media City flagship reopening.

Edition One said in a newswire announcement carried by The Manila Times that the project will be its first-ever gym facility in Dubai. The venture is led by DJ, entrepreneur and digital creator DMO Deejay, according to the same announcement. Edition One also said its plans for the Dubai venue were advanced during an operational visit, where its management team convened on launch preparations.

The key detail for members and fitness fans is what has not been confirmed yet. Edition One said an official opening date and full operational specifications will be shared in later updates, so there is no confirmed launch date, class timetable, equipment list or facility breakdown to report at this stage.

Why another flagship gym matters in Dubai

The announcement lands in a market that is already crowded, active and still growing. The National, citing the UAE Health and Fitness Industry Report, reported about 1,344 registered gyms and fitness facilities across the UAE, excluding hotel gyms and small residential facilities. That is a large base, but the same reporting suggests operators are not treating the market as finished.

According to The National, about 62% of UAE fitness operators reported revenue growth over the past year, and roughly 6 in 10 plan to open additional locations within two years. The report also said Dubai accounts for around 80% of operator presence. In simple terms, Dubai remains the country’s busiest fitness hub, and new openings are still part of the industry’s growth story.

IMARC Group adds a wider view of UAE fitness industry growth. According to IMARC Group, the UAE health and fitness club market is projected to grow at a compound annual rate of about 4.28% from 2026 to 2034, driven by government fitness campaigns, a young health-conscious population and rising health awareness. That forecast supports the idea that operators see room for more clubs, provided they meet changing expectations.

What gym-goers should watch for next

Because Edition One has not released the full specifications, the next updates will matter more than the headline itself. A flagship label can mean different things across the fitness industry, so the useful details will be practical ones:

  • What training space is included, from strength areas to group exercise studios.
  • What equipment mix is planned, especially for busy peak-time training.
  • What classes, coaching or member experiences will be part of the model.
  • Where the facility will sit within Dubai’s existing gym network.

Those details will help people understand whether the new venue is aimed at serious lifters, group class fans, general fitness members or a mixed audience. Until Edition One confirms them, the responsible reading is that this is a business launch announcement, not a complete guide to the facility.

Dubai’s fitness push is helping drive demand

The city’s gym growth is not happening in isolation. Gulf News reported that the Dubai Fitness Challenge, launched in 2017 under Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, is part of Dubai’s drive to be the world’s most active city and has brought over 16 million participants together across its editions.

Khaleej Times reported that the 2026 Dubai Fitness Challenge, its 10th edition, runs from 31 October to 29 November 2026 and is built around 30 minutes of daily activity for 30 days, with free Fitness Villages and more than 23 Community Fitness Hubs. That kind of citywide programme keeps fitness visible well beyond people who already train regularly.

There is also evidence that public fitness events have widened the audience. Gulf News reported that Dubai Run grew from 70,000 participants in 2019 to more than 307,000 in 2025. For gym operators, that matters because a larger active population can create demand for beginner-friendly spaces, better coaching, more flexible class options and clearer member support.

More openings mean higher expectations

More gyms do not automatically mean better fitness experiences. The National reported that analysts do not believe the UAE market has hit “peak gym”, but said growth now depends on innovation and member experience rather than simply opening more sites. That point is important for anyone choosing where to train.

A growing Dubai gym market gives people more choice, but it also raises the bar for operators. Members will compare convenience, coaching, class quality, equipment availability and how welcome a space feels when they walk in. For newcomers, the best gym is often the one that makes it easiest to build a consistent routine and feel comfortable returning.

Edition One’s planned Dubai facility is another sign that operators still see opportunity in the city. The real test will come when the company confirms the location, format and services behind the announcement.
