What is new at the 2026 NBF Fujairah Run
The headline addition is the 21.1km half marathon, which the organisers call the event's newest and longest distance. It sits alongside a full menu of races, so there is a start line to suit every level of runner and walker.
- 21.1km half marathon, new for 2026
- 11km trail run
- 10km road run
- 5km road run
- 3km road run
- The Determined Ones Run, for People of Determination
The course is known for its scenic coastline and mountain views, and the morning is built as a family day out, with giveaways and dedicated activity zones for different age groups.
Start times and where the race begins
The 2026 race begins at Fujairah Festival Square, opposite Fujairah Hospital and near Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. The starts are staggered so each distance gets a clear road.
- 07:00 for the 21.1km half marathon, the 11km trail run and the 10km road run
- 07:05 for the 5km road run
- 08:00 for the 3km road run
- 08:30 for The Determined Ones Run
According to the official NBF Fujairah Run website, registration closes on 16 November 2026 or when capacity is full, so it pays to book your distance early rather than leaving it to race week.
How to train for the NBF Fujairah Run
Pick your distance honestly, then build toward it. If you can already jog 20 minutes without stopping, any of the road distances is realistic with the weeks that remain. Here is a simple progression you can follow in the run-up to 21 November.
- Weeks one and two: build the habit. Three easy runs a week, one of them a little longer, all at a pace where you can still hold a conversation.
- Weeks three and four: add distance. Stretch your longest run by roughly ten percent each week, and add one session of short, faster efforts to wake up your legs.
- Weeks five and six: rehearse race pace. Run part of your long run at the speed you want on the day, and practise drinking water on the move.
- Final two weeks: taper. Cut the volume, keep a little intensity, and arrive at the start line fresh rather than tired.
Strength work two mornings a week, focused on legs, hips and core, protects your knees and keeps your form together in the closing kilometres. That is the kind of work our coaches build into a plan at any GymNation.
Race-day tips for Fujairah
A little preparation the night before turns a nervous morning into a smooth one. Keep it simple and stick to what you know.
- Lay out your kit, race number and shoes the night before.
- Eat a familiar breakfast a couple of hours before your start, never something new.
- Arrive early, warm up gently, and line up near runners of a similar pace.
- Start slower than feels right and save something for the final stretch.
- Hydrate through the morning, as the coastal air can still be warm.
A run that welcomes everyone
This is one of the most inclusive races on the UAE calendar. The Determined Ones Run is complimentary for People of Determination, who can take part by walking, running or using wheelchairs, and the shorter 3km is an easy first event for children and beginners. The National Bank of Fujairah reports that last year's ninth edition drew a record 6,400 registrations and nearly 5,500 runners from across the country, so expect a big, friendly crowd cheering every finisher home.
