GymNation Foundation is GymNation’s new formal commitment to fitness founders, athletes and community initiatives across the region. For UAE gym-goers, the launch matters because it puts startup backing, athlete support and charitable giving into one clear structure, with a focus on local talent and the wider Gulf wellness community.

What the GymNation Foundation supports

According to Campaign Middle East, GymNation has launched the GymNation Foundation as a funded commitment built on three pillars: The First Rep, an Athlete Program and Community Support. Business Today Middle East also reported the same three-pillar structure, positioning the Foundation as a formal home for work that reaches beyond the gym floor.

  • The First Rep: a startup investment fund for early-stage health and wellness founders.
  • Athlete Program: backing for aspiring athletes and athletes of determination.
  • Community Support: charitable giving through named partners and community initiatives.

The focus is broad, but it stays close to fitness. The Foundation is aimed at people building, training, competing or serving communities in health and wellness, with support that can move from idea stage to real-world impact.

The First Rep backs early-stage wellness founders

According to Entrepreneur Middle East, The First Rep is a seven-figure startup investment fund for early-stage founders working in fitness, recovery, nutrition, mental wellbeing, sports technology, wearables and digital health. The programme is open to founders across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Thailand.

Applications are open until February 2027, with a four-stage process reported by Campaign Middle East and Business Today Middle East.

  1. Founders apply online.
  2. Applications are reviewed.
  3. Selected founders pitch directly to GymNation’s founders.
  4. An investment decision is made.

Entrepreneur Middle East reported that successful founders receive direct investment, hands-on support to launch and scale, and access to GymNation’s community of more than 200,000 members across the GCC to research, test and grow their ideas. That member access is important because health and fitness startups often need feedback from real users, not just interest from investors.

The Athlete Program supports talent facing barriers

According to Business Today Middle East, the Athlete Program supports aspiring young athletes and athletes of determination who face financial barriers. The support includes subsidised or free access to GymNation clubs, a dedicated strength and conditioning coach, race and competition support, and exposure through GymNation’s channels. The support is offered on a renewable 12-month basis fully funded by the Foundation.

Campaign Middle East reported that the Foundation’s first supported athletes include four named athletes from different sporting backgrounds.

  • Alphia James: ranked world number 3 in WH2 para badminton singles.
  • Martin Nikolenko: a 14-year-old competitive cyclist.
  • Alice Morrison: in 2025 became the first person to walk the length of Saudi Arabia.
  • Ibrahim S Jalloh: a national champion elite cyclist.

For the everyday gym community, this is a reminder that strength and conditioning is not only for elite facilities or big squads. Structured coaching, consistent training and access to space can make a difference for athletes who are building toward competition, especially when cost or visibility is a barrier.

Community Support brings giving under one banner

Through Community Support, the Foundation channels its UAE charitable giving through the Al Jalila Foundation and its Saudi Arabia giving through Namaa Charity. Campaign Middle East and Business Today Middle East also listed existing partnerships including Heroes of Hope and Gulf for Good.

Business Today Middle East reported that the Foundation formalises GymNation’s charitable track record, with the brand having donated to charities since 2018. Bringing that work under the Foundation gives the giving a named structure and connects it to the same community-first mission as the founder and athlete programmes.

Why this matters for the Gulf fitness community

The launch connects three groups that often need different kinds of support. Founders need capital, mentoring and access to users. Athletes need facilities, coaching and a platform. Charities need consistent backing and visible partnerships. The GymNation Foundation puts those needs into one framework, with fitness as the common link.

GymNation Founder and CEO Loren Holland said GymNation has always been a community first and a gym second, and that the Foundation is how the brand makes that commitment permanent. That message fits the structure of the announcement: support the people building the next health idea, back athletes who need a fairer shot, and keep community giving visible.

For UAE members and future members, the practical takeaway is simple. A gym can be more than a place to train. It can also be a meeting point for founders, athletes, coaches, charities and people taking their own first rep toward better fitness.
