The Global Wellness Summit (GWS) is set to hold its 19th annual conference this fall in Abu Dhabi at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental.

This event comes as part of a strategic partnership with Abu Dhabi Investment Gate (ADIG) and Shura Global Consultancy (SGC), supported by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention.

The UAE has positioned itself as the central hub of the Middle East’s growing wellness economy, which reached $34 billion in 2023, according to the Global Wellness Institute.

Scheduled from November 18 to 21, the conference will introduce innovative platforms aimed at fostering collaboration, investment, and ideas that will shape the future of the wellness industry, according to a statement from GWS.

“We’re excited to partner with Abu Dhabi Investment Gate and Shura Global Consultancy to bring this esteemed event to the UAE,” said Susie Ellis, GWS chair and CEO.

“Abu Dhabi is an ideal location for what will be our most ambitious Summit yet. Delegates will also enjoy the diverse offerings of the UAE, including its stunning landscapes, cutting-edge preventative health and wellness innovations, and high-end luxury destinations.”

GWS has identified the Middle East as one of its top ten wellness trends for 2025, highlighting significant investments in preventive health care, wellness infrastructure, and tourism.

The burgeoning market is also attracting attention from fitness industry leaders.

GymNation, one of the Middle East's leading gym brands, is investing $1.5 million to develop Pilates studios across its locations and collaborating with Basi Systems to equip these spaces.

Meanwhile, Luxe Fit Pilates will be expanding FIT’s Vaura Pilates brand across the region, and Orangetheory Fitness has launched a studio in Saudi Arabia.

Global fitness giant Lift Brands, which owns Snap Fitness and Fitness On Demand, has reacquired Snap Fitness's master franchise rights in the UAE.

Plans are underway to open several new locations across the nation in the coming years.

Abu Dhabi itself is taking bold steps in wellness innovation, with plans to launch SHA Emirates in 2026.

This project will serve as the world's first "healthy living island," incorporating AI-driven wellness solutions.

The city is also developing holistic wellness spaces such as Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and Kintsugi Space, a women-only wellness club, while expanding wellness-focused real estate projects like Saadiyat Grove.

“Hosting the Summit in Abu Dhabi is an exceptional chance to demonstrate our nation’s leadership in wellness innovation," said ADIG chairman H.E. Saeed Al Meqbali.

"The Summit will act as a catalyst for economic development, knowledge sharing, and cross-sector partnerships."

The 2025 Global Wellness Summit will convene global experts to discuss emerging health and wellness trends.

An expanded Innovation Lab will also spotlight cutting-edge advancements from startups and industry disruptors.
