The third edition of the Abu Dhabi Government Games Championship, organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, is set to begin on Monday and will run until March 19th.
The event features over 2,000 employees from more than 45 government entities, competing in a variety of sports, including football, shooting, padel, fitness, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, chess, and badminton.
Competitions will take place across several locations, such as the Abu Dhabi Cricket Sports Hub, Al Forsan International Sports Resort, Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba (for running races), and the Al Wathba Cycle Track (for cycling events).
All matches and events are scheduled in the evenings, starting at 9:00 pm, making the championship a unique part of the Ramadan schedule.
With prize money totaling over AED 1.3 million, the championship also serves as a platform for employee engagement and well-being.
Aimed at fostering positivity, it is designed to strengthen professional relationships, support both personal and professional growth, and promote physical health, mental clarity, and overall wellness.
Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, highlighted that the event encourages participants to foster a balanced, active lifestyle that enhances physical, mental, and social well-being.
By integrating sports into their daily routines, employees can build stronger workplace connections and improve their overall quality of life.
