6th ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon

The ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon is set to take place on December 14, 2024, welcoming over 33,000 participants, including elite international and professional athletes, as well as members of the community.

The event, organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), is the largest community sports gathering held on Abu Dhabi Corniche.

Its goal is to advance the sports sector, enhance the UAE's global reputation in sports, and encourage the local community to focus on health and adopt a more active way of life.

The 42.195km marathon and relay for men and women will start at 6am from the ADNOC Headquarters on Corniche Road.

Runners will traverse iconic landmarks such as the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Al Bateen Palace, Qasr Al Hosn, and the World Trade Center, finishing near Baynunah Public Park at the ADNOC Campus.

Additional events include a 10km race starting at 6:30am, a 2.5km race at 8:45am, and a 5km race beginning at 9:30am.

These races aim to build an informed sports community while promoting healthier living, reflecting the commitment of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and ADNOC to fostering positive sporting habits and tackling health challenges.

The prize pool for the marathon exceeds $300,000.

The winning male and female elite marathoners will each receive $50,000, while the top three competitors in the Male and Female Marathon Wheelchair race will share $3,150.

Similarly, cash prizes will be awarded to the top three winners in the 10km Wheelchair race for both men and women.

The ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon Sports Village, located in the park behind ADNOC Tower, will be open from 4am to 2pm.

It will feature sponsor and supporter booths, fitness and yoga classes, sports activities, entertainment zones for children, and live musical performances.

The event is supported by several sponsors and partners, including ADNOC, Nike, Tadweer, Daman, the Department of Health, Burjeel Medical City, Vitamin Well, Al Ain Water, Nirvana Travel and Tourism, Al Masaood Automobiles | Nissan, Al Masaood Equipment Rental, Barakat, Arena, GU, RT Road Transit, and The Filipino Times.

During a press conference held on December 12, 2024, at the Marathon Village, His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, celebrated the collaboration between the council and ADNOC.

He emphasized the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon as a symbol of the UAE's values of happiness, tolerance, and coexistence while highlighting its contribution to fostering cultural unity and harmony.

His Excellency Al Awani extended a warm welcome to the elite athletes joining this notable event and thanked the sponsors, partners, and contributors for their support.

He added, “We offer special appreciation to the elite runners here today for their efforts and for inspiring future generations.”
