How long is your ideal workout?

Fitness trainer Yash Vardhan Swami, who lost 44 kg more than a decade ago, recently shared the powerful lessons he learned and the things he wishes he had known when he started.

"Thirteen years ago, I lost 44 kgs, and there are a few things I wish I knew back then," Yash wrote in an Instagram post, reflecting on his transformation.

He emphasized that the struggle with weight is more than just a physical issue.

It's a Life Problem, Not Just a Body Problem

Yash explained that being overweight can impact every aspect of your life, from health and finances to relationships.

"Your first impression often decides how others perceive you," he noted. "So, how you look matters if you care about your first impression."

The Biggest Battle Is in Your Mind

According to Yash, the most significant challenge in any weight loss journey is mental. "Everyone knows how to lose fat. Fat loss is simple: Eat less, move more, and do that consistently," he explained.

The real struggle, he says, is controlling the mind and psychology to stay consistent with a plan long enough to see results.

Don't Expect Everyone to Understand

While support from friends and family is helpful, Yash highlighted its limitations. "People around you can support you, but they cannot completely understand you unless they have gone through the same journey themselves," he advised. He cautioned against expecting others to fully grasp the challenges you face.

Obesity Steals Your Life, Piece by Piece

Finally, Yash shared a powerful perspective on the gradual but damaging impact of being overweight. "Obesity does not ruin your life overnight," he concluded.

"It steals it, one small piece at a time in the form of daily confidence, daily self-esteem, and how we look at ourselves on a daily basis."

His insights serve as a reminder that a weight loss journey is not just about changing your body, but about reclaiming your life.

What does the 3-3-3 rule for weight loss entail?

There are various interpretations of the "3-3-3 rule" for weight loss. Common ones include the 30-30-30 method (consuming 30g of protein within 30 minutes of waking, followed by 30 minutes of low-intensity exercise), the 3-by-3 balanced eating rule (three meals a day, three bottles of water by 3 PM, and at least three hours of exercise weekly), and the 3-3-3 exercise method (three sets of three exercises for three rounds). Remember, no single rule is a universal quick fix; a balanced diet and exercise approach with professional guidance is the best strategy.
