Amid growing concerns about sleep quality in the Gulf region, US-based sleep fitness company Eight Sleep has introduced its new Pod 5 system in Saudi Arabia.

This marks the global debut of the world's first AI-powered sleep platform, designed to optimize rest through advanced adjustments to temperature, elevation, and sound.

This expansion into Saudi Arabia is a key part of Eight Sleep’s GCC growth plan, following its initial launch in the UAE in November 2024.

Proprietary data from the company indicates that the Gulf region struggles with some of the poorest sleep quality globally, making it a significant focus for the brand.

“Saudi Arabia and the UAE are high-priority markets for us. The GCC is set to become our second-largest market globally after the US,” said Matteo Franceschetti, Co-Founder and CEO of Eight Sleep.

“We’ve witnessed remarkable enthusiasm in this area, as people increasingly view good sleep as essential and are searching for innovative solutions to improve it.”

Addressing Sleep Quality Challenges

Eight Sleep’s internal metrics reveal that Saudi Arabia ranks lowest for sleep quality among the more than 30 markets it serves.

The UAE also faces similar challenges, with late bedtimes being common, placing both nations in the bottom 25 percent of the company’s global index.

The Pod 5 system introduces innovative solutions, including Health Check, a non-wearable tool that monitors cardiovascular and respiratory health during sleep with sensors that track metrics like heart and respiratory rates.

Matteo Franceschetti explained, “Health Check represents the future of wellness, transforming the bed into both a recovery tool and a health-monitoring system.”

Innovative Features of the Pod 5

The modular system, made up of the Cover, Hub, hydro-powered Blanket, and Base, is designed to deliver three major benefits:

  • Biometric-driven temperature adjustments

  • Zero-gravity elevation

  • Built-in surround sound systems

Using Autopilot, an AI trained on more than 10 million hours of sleep data, the system makes personalized, real-time adjustments for users.

It responds effectively to the challenges of Gulf climates, where extreme heat, social jetlag, and stress can disrupt sleep. A reported 92% of users have experienced improvements in their rest with Pod 5.

Dr. Elie Abirached, a Dubai-based longevity expert, highlighted the significance of Autopilot, stating, “The system continuously adapts to environmental and personal factors without user intervention, making it especially beneficial in the Gulf.”

The Base component also features built-in speakers offering soundscapes, including content focused on Non-Sleep Deep Rest (NSDR), a recovery tool developed in collaboration with neuroscientist Dr. Andrew Huberman. Huberman emphasized, “NSDR is an effective technique for recovery, enhancing cognitive performance, and restoring the nervous system.”

Available Now in the UAE and Saudi Arabia

The Pod 5 system is compatible with all mattress types and bed frames, making it a flexible option for users.

It is now available in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, with prices starting at Dhs10,199 or SAR11,999, including free shipping across the Gulf region.

For those seeking advanced sleep solutions tailored to their unique needs, the Eight Sleep Pod 5 system represents a groundbreaking step toward better rest and well-being.
