This transformation expert, a significant figure in the fitness industry, boasts an impressive resume, including being a three-time Olympian, a European gold medalist, a two-time world silver medalist, and a ten-time British speed skating champion.

Beyond her athletic achievements, Sarah is recognized as the UK's leading body transformation specialist and a highly sought-after celebrity personal trainer in London, with clients such as Ellie Goulding, Piers Morgan, and Pixie Lott.

For the past eight years, Sarah has co-owned ROAR Fitness with her husband Rich, establishing a successful entrepreneurial venture. ROAR Fitness, which has three locations in central London and one in Dubai, has defied industry trends to remain a dominant force in the fitness world.

Through her training methods and dedication, Sarah empowers her clients to build confidence, strength, and take control of their lives, leaving a lasting impact on all who seek her guidance.

In a recent interview with City Times, Sarah shared her thoughts on starting and maintaining a fitness journey amidst a busy lifestyle, discussing techniques like biohacking (methods to optimize human health and performance) and the use of Ozempic (a medication marketed for weight loss) in modern fitness.

As a transformation specialist who has helped numerous people, including celebrities, what do you require from your clients?

All I need to know is what their goals are. It's not up to me to decide someone else's goal. I'm known for results and transformations, but to me, that's just good personal training. People come because they want to change in some way, and the before-and-after picture is just a small part of that story.

It's a visual representation, but what they gain is much more significant. Confidence is the biggest outcome. How something makes you feel changes everything: every thought, every action, the way you speak, how you dress, how you stand, and how others interact with you.

So, when people come to us, I need to know what's really going to motivate them. What do they truly want?

Tell me honestly. Sometimes people are scared to set high goals or to express what they really want because it might sound silly. But it's up to you. You tell me what you want, and we'll facilitate whatever that result means to you.

You're an advocate for strength training for all individuals, especially entrepreneurs and CEOs. Why is that?

I believe if you're physically capable and confident, it shows how well you look after yourself. If you want longevity and to keep performing in whatever you're doing in life, your health is crucial.

You need to stay in top condition if you want to continue looking after everyone else. It's challenging when you're busy, especially for those who don't have a fixed salary and are always hustling for the next thing. Your good health should be the biggest priority.

Does that mean just being active, or also lifting weights? Because sometimes lifting weights is a different ballgame...

The only way to get stronger is to progressively overwork the muscle. You have to add weight to the body somehow. You can start with body weight or any form of resistance, such as bands, but very quickly, this plateaus.

You need to start adding weight. That's the only way to get stronger: by continually increasing the amount of weight you lift.

Is that what you advise for both genders?

Yes, everyone should start lifting. You need to learn how to do it properly. Women can be put off for various reasons—some don't want to be particularly muscular, and many find the gym intimidating—but this advice applies to both genders.

Is Biohacking Essential for Fitness Enthusiasts?

The buzz around biohacking has become ubiquitous. But is it really a must-have for fitness aficionados?

At its core, biohacking is about human optimization. It involves discovering small biological tweaks to enhance your overall health.

Trends in biohacking often come with a stigma, but it's crucial to keep an open mind and consider various ideas. Some concepts may seem far-fetched or impractical, while others might resonate with you and even bring noticeable benefits. It's about experimenting with practices that appear beneficial or relevant to your life.

Although I don't label myself as a biohacker, I do engage in activities that fall under that umbrella. For instance, I take an ice bath every morning. My motivation isn't solely based on the physiological benefits often cited; rather, it makes me feel good. I believe in pushing myself out of my comfort zone, as it can be beneficial to experience mild discomfort.

Thoughts on Using Ozempic

Ozempic has gained popularity as a quick fix for weight loss. However, its rapid weight-loss effects often lead people to make hasty decisions about their health. This knee-jerk reaction to not feeling good can be detrimental, especially when it involves medication.

While Ozempic can be beneficial for those who are significantly obese and have medical approval, its misuse can have negative repercussions.

One major concern is muscle loss due to under-eating. As a strong advocate for muscle gain and its positive impacts, I believe the misuse of such medications can lead to adverse outcomes.

Steps to Combat Burnout and Get Fit

Starting a fitness journey while experiencing burnout is challenging but crucial. Burnout occurs because you're not recovering adequately from your daily activities. To combat this, you need to prioritize three key areas: sleep, nutrition, and exercise.

Improving these aspects is tough when you're already exhausted, but it's essential to break the negative cycle. Focus first on sleep and nutrition, including proper hydration. Enhancing these areas will provide you with the energy needed to engage in physical training.

By addressing these foundational elements, you can start to regain your energy and set the stage for a successful fitness journey.
