The eighth annual Dubai Fitness Challenge is set to begin on October 24 and promises to be one of the largest yet, according to the organizers.

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, expressed confidence in the event's success, stating, "We in Dubai can surpass our previous records.”

This year's challenge will include several international competitions, making it the most significant edition to date.

Participants are encouraged to engage in 30 minutes of daily exercise for 30 consecutive days.

Activities range from a mobile gym traveling across the emirate to underwater experiences for fitness enthusiasts to enjoy.

Building on last year's impressive participation of over 35,000 people, the Dubai Ride aims to be even larger this year.

Registration is already open for the event on November 10, where cyclists can ride on Sheikh Zayed Road, choosing between a 12km route or a family-friendly 4km course around Downtown Dubai.

Fitness villages and events

This year, the city will feature three fitness villages and over 23 fitness hubs. The well-known Kite Beach fitness village will return, offering activities for all ages.

Zabeel Park will host the Dubai Municipality fitness village, which will include various fitness zones such as a new cricket area, a running club, a spinning zone, and a Kids Fitness Zone.

This location will also distribute bibs for Dubai Run and Dubai Ride events.

At RTA Al Warqa’a Park fitness village, visitors can enjoy activities like cycling and multi-sport zones.

Highlights include a cycling hub with 75 bikes, on-site mechanics, a new Running Club, and areas designated for kids, women, and football fans.

A 30-day event calendar will accommodate fitness enthusiasts of all ages.

The Plus500 city half marathon on October 27 will start at the Gate Building at Dubai International Financial Centre.

The Premier Padel P1 tournament will debut on November 3 at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, featuring top players competing for a Dh8 million prize pool in men's and women's categories.

The Dubai Stand Up Paddle event returns to Hatta Dam on November 2, allowing participants to enjoy the scenic water and mountains.

Certified coaches will assist participants of all skill levels. This year, for the first time, event attendees can enjoy free kayaking at Hatta Dam.

These sessions are available throughout the day, subject to availability, and can be booked on-site.

Concluding the challenge will be the popular Dubai Run on Sunday, November 24. Thousands will run past Dubai's iconic landmarks, selecting either a 5km or 10km route along Sheikh Zayed Road.
