Throughout August, shopping malls in Dubai are transforming into vibrant fitness hubs, thanks to the newly launched “Dubai Mallathon” initiative.
Aimed at promoting health and wellness, the campaign encourages community members to stay active by using mall spaces as indoor tracks in the morning hours, blending comfort, safety, and fitness into one experience.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, announced the initiative, highlighting its innovative approach to embedding physical activity into daily life.
“Today, we launched the ‘Dubai Mallathon’ – an initiative that transforms shopping malls across the city into indoor fitness tracks, encouraging the Dubai community to stay active comfortably and safely during morning hours throughout August.
Aligned with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, the initiative places health and wellbeing at the core of daily life,” Sheikh Hamdan shared via his social media account.

Turning Familiar Spaces into Fitness Zones
The initiative will introduce dedicated walking and running tracks in seven major malls across Dubai, including Dubai Mall, Dubai Hills Mall, Springs Souk, City Centre Deira, City Centre Mirdif, Mall of the Emirates, and Dubai Marina Mall.
This creative approach ensures residents and visitors alike can maintain an active lifestyle while enjoying the familiar and air-conditioned comfort of Dubai’s iconic shopping destinations.
Sheikh Hamdan further emphasized the campaign’s purpose, calling it “a simple idea with a powerful goal: bringing healthy, active living into familiar everyday spaces.”
The Dubai Mallathon initiative serves as a step forward in integrating health-focused habits into the daily routines of the community, making it easier for everyone to lead a more active lifestyle while enjoying the vibrant energy of Dubai’s beloved malls.
