This annual event, which is part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), will take riders along Sheikh Zayed Road, showcasing the city's iconic landmarks.
Following last year's impressive turnout of over 35,000 participants, organizers are expecting an even larger crowd for this year's fifth edition.
Dubai Ride includes a 'family-friendly' 4km route in Downtown, traveling along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard.
Starting at 6:15 am from Dubai Mall, this picturesque path leads cyclists past landmarks like Dubai Opera and the Burj Khalifa.
Introducing Speed Laps
The newly launched Speed Laps offers an exclusive cycling experience for veteran riders, aged 21 and up.
Between 5am and 6am, cyclists can enjoy high-speed rides along a 12km route without speed restrictions, allowing them to discover Sheikh Zayed Road in a refreshing way.
To join Speed Laps, participants must:
- Maintain a minimum speed of 30 km/h.
- Have experience cycling in a peloton.
- Ride a bike that supports this speed.
- Adhere to directions from Dubai Ride Marshals.
After completing Speed Laps, riders can reunite with family and friends for the main event.
Route Descriptions:
- 4km Downtown Family Route: This flat, easy-going route passes through Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard and notable sites like Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera, and the Burj Khalifa. It's perfect for cyclists of all skill levels and ages.
- 12km Sheikh Zayed Road Route: A more demanding path stretching from Dubai World Trade Centre to Safa Park, including a climb over the Dubai Canal Bridge, suitable for more experienced cyclists.
