This year's Dubai Sports World (DSW) is more extensive than ever, featuring a free gym, numerous activities, food trucks, and a children's play area.
All the popular sports, such as volleyball, tennis, cricket, padel, pickleball, and table tennis, are back.
The 14th edition of DSW spans 30,000 square feet, offering 10 different sports across 40 courts, making it the largest indoor sports venue in the region.
In addition, several free activities are being offered for residents this summer. Here's a glimpse of what to expect:
Basketball
The basketball court has been upgraded to professional standards.
Former NBA player Dale Ellis and Indian actor Rannvijay Singha showcased their skills in a friendly match on Tuesday.
Teqball
Teqball, played on a curved table with a football-like ball, is a new addition this year.
Players can use any part of their body except their arms and hands to hit the ball, usually in a best-of-three sets format.
Gym
Visitors can access a state-of-the-art CrossFit gym for free from 8 AM to 12 PM, providing a fitness option during the summer months.
Cricket
Cricket enthusiasts have several pitches to choose from, including two equipped with bowling machines that deliver various types of balls, such as spin and fastballs, allowing players to practice their shots.
Play Area
The children's zone has expanded, featuring inflatable castles, a rock climbing area, and more.
Parents can leave their kids at the Kids World corner while they engage in sports or workouts.
Community Activities
DSW aims to be inclusive, welcoming everyone from the community.
“We have days dedicated to the elderly and other community members like delivery riders and taxi drivers,” said Mahir Julfar, Executive Vice President at Dubai World Trade Center.
Badminton
Badminton enthusiasts can enjoy 18 indoor courts. Courts can be booked on the DSW website, with prices starting from Dh50 per hour.
Free Events
DSW is also hosting several free events, including a running club, yoga sessions, HIIT workouts, and more, for residents to participate in.
For more details and bookings, visit the DSW website.
