Dubai Sports World Opens

The 2024 season was inaugurated by HE Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, Mahir Julfar, EVP of Dubai World Trade Centre, former NBA All-Star and three-point shooting champion Dale Ellis, and actor and TV personality Rannvijay Singha.

Organized by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council (DSC), the event will run every day from 8 am to midnight until September 8.

Spanning 300,000 square feet, Dubai Sports World offers bookable pitches and courts for ten core sports—football, basketball, padel, table tennis, volleyball, badminton, cricket, tennis, teqball, and pickleball.

The venue also includes summer camps, sports academies, and 'Dubai Kids World,' which features a supervised soft play area, adventure zone, trampolines, giant inflatable slides, and an arts and craft corner to keep kids entertained. Additionally, there's a free gym accessible to everyone and fun family activities like foosball and retro arcade games.

HE Saeed Hareb emphasized that Dubai Sports World has become a leading summer community fitness event supporting active lifestyles across Dubai.

It's an integral part of the city's annual sports and fitness calendar, blending competitive and community activities.

The 14th edition aims to provide enjoyable sports and fitness experiences while fostering community and family bonds and promoting an active lifestyle.

Mahir Abdulkarim Julfar highlighted the event's focus on inclusivity and accessibility, offering a diverse range of sports and activities designed to engage the entire community.

He emphasized the creation of an environment that promotes health and well-being and builds strong bonds through sports and physical activities.

Former NBA All-Star Dale Ellis expressed his admiration for Dubai's hospitality and opportunities.

He noted that events like Dubai Sports World are crucial for nurturing young talent and uniting people from diverse backgrounds through the universal language of sport.

Ellis will also be working with Never Quit Stay Fit and TAAL Sports on a summer camp for young athletes at Dubai Sports World, focusing on skills development, fitness, and personal growth.

Dubai Sports World is committed to being fully accessible to people of all abilities, including People of Determination.

This year's edition offers more opportunities than ever for residents and visitors to focus on their health, fitness, and well-being, thanks to partnerships with Dubai Sports Council and various academies and sporting brands.

This weekend, the event will feature an Academy Day on Saturday, June 29, with family-friendly activities for parents and children aged 4 to 14, including sports academy open days and specialized activities for children with special educational needs.

On Sunday, June 30, the venue will host a Yoga Day, providing a relaxing end to the weekend.
