Dubai's 5th Gov Games in February

Dubai is gearing up to welcome teams from around the globe for the highly anticipated fifth edition of the Gov Games.
This event will again showcase the power of sports in uniting communities and teams representing public entities and various nations.
The Gov Games, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, will take place at Dubai Festival City from Thursday, 29th February to Sunday, 3rd March.
The four-day event promises a thrilling display of incredible physical feats and strategic challenges.
This year's Gov Games will be the largest yet, featuring 194 teams across different categories.
Notably, it includes the inaugural Junior Gov Games for competitors aged 10 to 13, aimed at fostering values of teamwork and personal growth among the youth.
The championship's final day will see these young competitors face seven challenges tailored to their age group.
In the adult categories, 84 male and 26 female teams from government entities will compete in the Battle of the Government tournament.
Additionally, 28 teams will participate in the Battle of the Community tournament, while another 28 teams from global cities will compete in the Battle of the Cities.
The Junior Gov Games finalists will also face various physically and mentally demanding challenges to test their endurance and teamwork.

He added, “The addition of the Junior Gov Games further demonstrates our commitment to nurturing the holistic development of our younger generations and ensures the Gov Games provides a cornerstone for Dubai's thriving cultural and sporting landscape.”
Substantial cash prizes await the winners, adding to the excitement of the competitions.
The top teams in the adult categories will receive AED 500,000, with second and third place winners receiving AED 250,000 and AED 150,000, respectively.
Prizes are also available for the junior category, with the first-place team winning AED 70,000, the runner-up AED 56,000, and the third-place team AED 35,000.
The event schedule is meticulously designed to highlight talent and teamwork across various categories.
The first two days will focus on competitions among government teams, with male and female teams testing their sporting skills and teamwork.
The arena will then open for teams representing cities and communities, as well as the Junior Gov Games.
The event will conclude with a grand closing ceremony where champions across categories will be crowned.
The Gov Games 2024 is supported by an esteemed roster of partners and sponsors, including DP World as the Official Partner and the Dubai Sports Council as a Strategic Sponsor.
