Extra Classes for Heart Health

Additional cardiac rehabilitation gym classes are being introduced in Basingstoke to meet increasing demand.

The Basingstoke Aquadrome has expanded its schedule, now offering two extra cardiac rehabilitation gym sessions per week to support individuals recovering from various heart-related conditions.

This brings the total number of weekly cardiac rehabilitation classes at the Aquadrome to five.

These classes aim to assist individuals in their recovery journeys.

Gym supervisor Aaron Boyd explained, "As health and wellbeing professionals, our role is to help all members of the community lead more active and healthier lives.

Adding more cardiac classes enables us to extend our specialist support to even more people."

Participation in these cardiac classes is available through NHS referral. To attend, individuals are encouraged to contact their GP to begin the referral process or reach out to the Aquadrome team for assistance.

Cllr Kerry Morrow, the borough council's cabinet member for sports, leisure, and culture, praised the initiative, saying, "The launch of additional cardiac rehabilitation classes at the Aquadrome is fantastic news, as it addresses the significant demand for this essential support."
