Fitness First Middle East is set to open ladies-only gyms in Saudi Arabia this year, expanding its current network of men's clubs in the country.
Following the new regulations by Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Sports, the company will hire internationally certified female personal trainers.
The new ladies-only gyms will feature a variety of classes, including BodyPump, Zumba, and RPM.
They will also offer exclusive group training called 6D, which focuses on six fitness dimensions: move, lift, core, burn, function, and recover.
Members will have access to other Fitness First ladies-only clubs in different countries. The operator has a network of women-only gyms in the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, and Kuwait.
Last month, Princess Reema bint Bandar, vice president for women's affairs at the sports authority, announced that Saudi Arabia would start issuing licenses for women's gyms by the end of February.
The Kingdom aims to increase the percentage of people who exercise at least once a week from 13% to 40% by 2030.
George Flooks, Chief Operating Officer of Fitness First Middle East, said, "We are thrilled to bring ladies-only gyms to Saudi Arabia. Our concept includes over 70 GX classes a week, specifically designed for women.
"Fitness First will provide the most skilled and highly qualified staff in the region, offering the best experience for women.
Our gyms will be built for exercise, comfort, social interaction, and convenience.
We will ensure all our clubs have Arabic-speaking female staff to connect better with our members."
