What's your go-to workout time?

The popular fitness chain removed all weights from several of its gyms across the UAE and KSA, a move designed to encourage people to focus on their mental fitness as much as their physical health.

This morning, images circulated showing empty weight racks and dumbbells piled up outside, replaced by signs explaining the initiative.

According to Rory McEntee, CMO at GymNation, "the only weight we want people to lift on the 10th of October is the weight off their mind."

The impactful campaign aims to encourage the public to "unload" by highlighting the importance of mental wellbeing. In partnership with the leading mental health organization, Sage, GymNation is hosting special drop-in mental health classes at select locations.

These sessions will combine a popular workout class, like Zumba or Les Mills, with a mental health talk and Q&A.

This focus on mental fitness is timely, as studies show that a significant portion of the population in the UAE and KSA struggles with mental health disorders.

Dr. Gurveen Ranger from Sage praised GymNation’s creative idea, noting that while physical fitness is crucial for boosting mood and reducing anxiety, it’s equally important to talk and unload to support mental wellbeing.
