GymNation is making waves—of ice—with the launch of its innovative “Coolest Class.” Designed to help UAE
gym-goers stay active amidst record-breaking summer heat, this high-intensity workout brings a refreshingly chilly twist to traditional fitness routines.
The class incorporates unique icy elements, including sled pushes with ice blocks, squats in frozen-weight vests, “Blizzard Sprints” on wind tunnel-style treadmills, and the “Glacier Grip Challenge” featuring bicep curls and lunges with ice buckets.
Each session ends with a recovery dip in ice baths, sealing the sweat-free experience.
Over 1,000 kilograms of ice were shipped last week to keep the classes running, with sessions held every Saturday at select GymNation locations throughout July.
GymNation Chief Marketing Officer Rory McEntee explained, “We created this as a genuine solution to the boiling temperatures restricting gym-goers.
The response has been incredible, and the workout’s success has gone viral internationally.”
Beyond its cool-factor appeal, cold-environment training packs real benefits.
According to sports scientist Aderito Manuel, such workouts can enhance VO2 max, improve calorie burn, and boost cardiovascular efficiency, while also building mental resilience and higher pain tolerance.

GymNation’s Riyadh Flagship – A Regional Milestone
While GymNation’s ice-cold workouts have captured global attention, its ambitious expansion continues to heat up.
The brand recently launched its largest gym to date in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, further solidifying its dominance in the GCC region.
Located in Qurtubah, the sprawling 77,000-square-foot facility sets a benchmark for fitness centers in the Kingdom.
Standout features include Saudi Arabia’s largest women-only Reformer Pilates studio, a glute training zone, an expansive free weights area, and a rooftop terrace for group workouts and social gatherings.
The location also boasts recovery facilities with saunas, ice baths, and treatment rooms, as well as spin studios, mobility-focused Mind & Body spaces, and a Hyrox-affiliated training area for competitive fitness enthusiasts.
“Saudi Arabia is experiencing a fitness revolution, and we’re proud to offer a space where everyone feels welcomed and motivated,” said Loren Holland, founder and CEO of GymNation.
“We’ve brought not only the biggest gym, but also one of the most visually inspiring fitness spaces Riyadh has ever seen.”
The Future of Fitness
Since its launch in 2017, GymNation has grown rapidly, operating 22 locations across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with plans to open 20 additional sites by 2025.
The brand is also expanding its footprint into Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, underscoring its mission to provide world-class fitness that’s accessible, affordable, and inclusive.
Whether through its ice-cold workouts or cutting-edge facilities, GymNation continues to redefine fitness in the GCC, offering innovative solutions to fitness enthusiasts regardless of the season or setting.
