GymNation, a prominent homegrown gym chain in the Middle East, has announced significant additions to its senior leadership team as part of its preparation for rapid growth throughout the GCC region.

The newly appointed team members bring expertise in areas such as marketing, financial operations, partnerships, business development, and construction.

These appointments are expected to further establish GymNation as a leading fitness provider in the region, supporting its mission to make fitness more affordable, accessible, and inclusive.

Key Leadership Hires

Rory McEntee, CMO

Rory McEntee has joined GymNation to lead creative marketing, brand partnerships, stunts, reactive campaigns, and community-focused initiatives.

His extensive experience in brand storytelling and engagement will enhance GymNation’s reputation as a culturally relevant and innovative fitness brand.

Rob MacTighearnain, CFO

Serving as Chief Financial Officer, Rob MacTighearnain brings a wealth of experience in scaling high-growth companies and managing strategic financial initiatives.

His background across SaaS, fintech, and startups strengthens GymNation’s financial strategy.

Sophie Hamilton-McEntee, Head of Corporate Sales

Sophie Hamilton-McEntee, with her experience in corporate wellness and a passion for mental and physical health, will lead initiatives to promote employee well-being through regional corporate partnerships.

Samy Al Aaser, Projects Director

Previously at PureGym, Samy Al Aaser will oversee gym fit-outs and manage the expansion of GymNation’s existing and upcoming facilities.

Additionally, GymNation has established a regional head office in Riyadh, complemented by a specialized KSA-based support team.

This includes Colin Carter, the Property & Acquisitions Director, who is responsible for overseeing new property acquisitions in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar.

A Vision for Growth

Loren Holland, Founder & CEO of GymNation, expressed excitement about the growing team, stating, “Welcoming Rob, Rory, Samy, and Sophie to the team brings in a wealth of expertise and fresh perspectives that will help us advance into our next phase of aggressive growth.

With their contributions, we aim to double the size of our business and achieve 50 open or committed gyms across the Middle East, supporting up to 500,000 members by the end of this year.”

Holland also highlighted the significance of the new Riyadh headquarters.

“This new milestone aligns perfectly with our first gyms opening in Riyadh's Qurtubah District on June 20th. Over 7,000 founding members have already signed up, demonstrating strong demand for world-class, accessible, and affordable fitness facilities in Saudi Arabia."

These developments further cement GymNation’s commitment to expanding its presence in the region and meeting the demand for premium yet affordable fitness experiences.
