GymNation, recognized as the fastest-expanding fitness brand in Saudi Arabia, is set to further its growth after inaugurating its 20th facility in the Middle East, which includes its initial six gyms in Saudi Arabia.
Commenting on GymNation’s swift expansion and successful market entry in Saudi Arabia, Loren Holland, the Founder & CEO of GymNation, stated, “This year, we’ve launched ten gyms, six of them in Saudi Arabia, all adhering to timelines and budgets while surpassing membership targets.
The reception has been overwhelmingly positive, and Saudi Arabia has proven to be a business-friendly environment, thanks to the continuous support from the Ministry of Investment (MISA), which has been pivotal in our expansion into the Kingdom.”
Amidst a government-driven initiative to boost fitness participation, GymNation is already addressing affordability issues, making fitness more accessible and inviting throughout the Kingdom.
This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to foster a healthier, more active population.
“It’s a thrilling period, and GymNation aims to be a leader in these efforts as the region's ‘movement partner.’
We’re eager to continue promoting healthy, active lifestyles and assist communities in reaching their fitness potential, regardless of their goals,” Holland added.
GymNation’s affordable pricing, superior facilities, and community-oriented focus have attracted over 25,000 members in Saudi Arabia, with 44% being new to gyms.
Interestingly, demand from female members has surpassed that of males, a result of GymNation’s equitable pricing for both genders, which has resonated in a market where female-only gyms often cost more than male ones.
“We’ve noticed especially high demand from Saudi women, with female memberships exceeding those of men.
Our equal pricing strategy for both genders has struck a chord in a market where female-only gyms are typically more expensive than those for males.”
Beyond physical growth, GymNation, already acclaimed for its use of AI technology, intends to increase its investment in technology, automation, and AI to optimize processes, tailor member experiences, and enhance retention.
With a population exceeding 35 million and a fitness penetration rate of about 5-7%, the Saudi market offers substantial opportunities, with forecasts indicating the fitness market may double in the next 3-5 years.
GymNation has ambitious plans for the coming year.
“The GCC market is expanding by 15-20% annually, and we’ve bolstered our company infrastructure to scale quickly and seize what we consider a unique opportunity,” said Holland.
The company plans to establish 20-30 new gyms in the next 12 months, including its initial locations in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar.
With goals to expand beyond 100 locations across the GCC, GymNation is poised to lead the rapidly advancing fitness industry in the region.
