The first Hyrox Performance Centre (HPC) officially opened in Berlin this weekend. Located in Kreuzberg, the facility is specifically designed to help athletes train for Hyrox fitness races.

The Hyrox Performance Centre represents a new and advanced level of affiliation in the Hyrox 365 ecosystem, which operates on a three-tiered system.

This top-tier level is exclusively for facilities dedicated to creating the perfect environment for Hyrox athletes to train.

Hyrox 365, introduced earlier this year, integrates education, training, and coaching under one brand. It also develops a training, coaching, and certification system tailored to Hyrox.

Over 2,300 new clubs have affiliated with the program this year, bringing the global total to 5,000 affiliated gyms.

David Magida, head of group training at Hyrox 365, highlights the importance of the new concept, saying, “The Hyrox Performance Centre initiative allows us to work closely with gym owners to create highly optimized group training spaces.

These facilities are thoughtfully designed to maximize floor space and align with the specific programming needs of Hyrox athletes.

“With geographic exclusivity and valuable partnerships with organizations like Centr and Concept 2, we collaborate directly with facility owners and operators who are eager to deliver the ultimate training experience to our rapidly expanding community.”

For facility owners interested in becoming a Hyrox Performance Centre, the process involves applying for their geographic region and securing an initial six-month exclusivity period.

During this time, they undergo a feasibility assessment. Together with official partners Centr and Concept 2, Hyrox evaluates the owner’s credibility, team composition, financial outlook, and facility location to gauge feasibility and finalize the optimal design and layout.

The minimum requirements for facilities include a gym floor space of 160 to 200 square meters.

During the feasibility assessment, optimal floor plans are created to ensure that space and equipment align with the HPC group training approach.

Facility owners are granted exclusivity over their geographic region, and gym groups or chains also have the opportunity to run multiple Hyrox Performance Centre locations.

Douglas Gremmen, Hyrox 365's managing director, notes, “This is an ideal solution for larger enterprise-level operators as well as individual gym owners who want to offer a specialized experience for Hyrox athletes.

The interest we've seen in the HPC model around the world has been astounding.”

He continues, “It's exciting to see the first location launch in Berlin, with facilities in the UK and Middle East expected to open in 2024.

By 2025, we anticipate having HPC locations in almost every country we currently serve, in addition to new markets such as China, India, and Brazil.”

Required hardware investments for Centr and Concept 2 equipment range from $150,000 to $220,000, depending on the size of the facility, while affiliation fees are $295 per month with a minimum three-year commitment.

Aside from Hyrox Performance Centres, the Hyrox 365 ecosystem includes two other affiliation tiers.

The first, Hyrox Training Club, is the standard affiliation tier, which allows gyms to offer Hyrox training, promote their association with the brand, and gain early access to tickets and the Performance Hub—a digital platform filled with training resources.

The second tier is Hyrox Performance Coach, which provides certification for fitness professionals who complete the Hyrox Academy program.

Gremmen emphasizes that the company’s goal is to go beyond its current base of 600,000 active racers by making it easier for people to experience Hyrox training and participate in its community-focused group exercise programs.
