A 37-year-old soap opera actress and fitness influencer, Barbara de Regil, has sparked a wave of online criticism over a video she shared.

The now-deleted post shows Barbara performing a full-body workout in the aisle of an airplane.

Barbara explained that after sitting for 35 hours, she felt uneasy and needed to move her body.

Instead of choosing light stretches or a quick walk through the plane, she opted for a high-energy workout.

Her routine included running in place and doing squat jumps—all while dressed in pajamas and wearing an eye mask.

The video even features her husband, who appears unbothered by her actions as he remains seated.

However, not everyone on the internet was amused. One social media user commented, "This ridiculous lady has already won the Idiot of the Year award.”

Another pointed out that doing stretches discreetly at the back of the plane would have been more considerate. A different commenter remarked, "Planes don’t have showers, she must stink."

While much of the feedback was negative, there were those who supported her actions. One person shared, "Movement is incredibly beneficial, especially when flying often.

I used to travel frequently and experienced water retention and cramping." Another added, "35 hours!? I would be moving too."

Barbara addressed the backlash and explained that sitting for long periods is difficult for her.

She responded to a screenshot of her Instagram story shared by La Razón Mexico, noting, "The movements you see, hahaha, are to prevent thrombosis.

Also, I don’t know about you, but I can’t sit still for that long." She went on to say, "I think people are more bothered by someone snoring than someone moving. Besides, the space is big."

What is Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)?

According to the American Society of Hematology, prolonged immobility during air travel can lead to blood clots forming in the legs, a condition known as deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

The risk increases during long flights, particularly for individuals with pre-existing risk factors.
