L’Étape Dubai 2026 Reveals New Routes and Bigger Race Weekend

L’Étape Dubai by Tour de France, presented by ŠKODA and supported by the Dubai Sports Council, has unveiled new race routes and expanded activities for its 2026 edition, promising an even bigger and more immersive cycling festival across Dubai.

Taking place on January 24 and 25, 2026, the event gives amateur cyclists and enthusiasts the opportunity to experience the atmosphere, structure, and prestige of the world’s most famous cycling race - right here in the UAE. 

New routes across iconic Dubai landmarks

The 2026 edition introduces new courses starting from Dubai Design District (D3) and finishing at Expo Village Park, guiding riders through some of the city’s most recognisable landmarks.

Cyclists can choose between:

• Epic Race (112km) – a demanding endurance challenge

• Classic Race (61km) – a more accessible but still competitive route
  
  

Both courses are designed to balance challenge and enjoyment, with riders also able to test themselves in official sprint sections and compete for iconic Tour de France jerseys.

A full weekend for riders and families

The finish area and Saturday programme will be hosted at Expo Village Park, which will also stage:

• ŠKODA Family Ride (20km)

• Kids’ Race (300m to 1.8km)
  
  

A major highlight of the 2026 edition is the enhanced Race Village, serving as the central hub for riders, families, and fans, with entertainment, activities, and opportunities to meet cycling legends throughout the weekend.

Building momentum after a successful debut

The inaugural L’Étape Dubai attracted over 1,000 riders, including strong international participation and a significant number of Emirati cyclists, making it the largest amateur cycling event of its kind in the UAE.

In 2026, organisers expect around 2,000 participants across all categories, reflecting the event’s rapid growth and rising profile.

Officials from the Dubai Sports Council highlighted the event’s role in reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global sports hub, while also supporting youth programmes and community initiatives that promote active lifestyles.

More than race day

As part of the expanded programme, cyclists across the UAE will be able to take part in a series of social rides in the lead-up to race weekend, helping build community, confidence, and momentum ahead of the main event.

With new routes, a larger race village, and growing international attention, L’Étape Dubai 2026 is set to deliver a standout celebration of cycling in the region.
