How to Maintain Form Under Pressure

Sticking to good form when exhaustion sets in isn’t an easy skill to master, but Horváth stresses its importance. Her approach? Practice in all conditions.

  • Refine your technique while fresh: Focus on proper movement and control when you’re feeling strong.

  • Train under fatigue: Repeatedly lifting while tired helps you learn to maintain form during challenging moments.

  • Lifting in intervals: Practice lifting weights in structured sessions—for instance, 40 seconds of work followed by 20 seconds of rest. This simulates the conditions of competitive events, prepping your body for real-world demands.

  • Training solo: While group workouts can be fun, training alone allows you to fine-tune your tempo, form, and focus without distraction.

  • Video your progress: Recording your lifts can help you assess and improve your form based on what you see, not just what you feel.

“Practice makes perfect,” says Horváth. Whether it’s competition prep for events like Gym Clash or trendy races such as HYROX, her rules stand firm for athletes of all levels.

This high-stakes competition challenges elite gym teams of four—two men and two women—to tackle grueling workouts designed to test endurance, strength, coordination, and teamwork.

Horváth isn’t just a powerhouse athlete—she’s a role model redefining strength. Raised in Budapest, Hungary, she grew up immersed in fitness, climbing, and grit in her family’s climbing gym.

Transitioning from an elite climber to a functional fitness champion, she earned the title of the 'Fittest Woman on Earth' in 2023 with her dominant victory at the CrossFit Games.

Beyond competition, Horváth’s mission is about empowering others, especially women, to lift with pride, power, and purpose. She proudly advocates for independence through strength.

“Why can only guys do all these things?” she asks. “For women to be strong—whether it’s lifting heavy things, pulling themselves up, or doing push-ups—it’s incredibly empowering.”

Horváth even draws inspiration from her own family. Her mother, who couldn’t do a pull-up for years, began CrossFit and has since achieved that milestone.

“I think everyone should be able to do a pull-up,” Horváth shares, adding that fitness is about so much more than building muscle—it’s about the confidence and independence that strength brings.
