Les Mills is stepping deeper into the wellness space with an innovative yoga series designed specifically for fitness clubs.

The New Zealand-based fitness leader has unveiled Les Mills Yoga, a four-part program aimed at addressing the growing demand for mind-body workouts in a way that’s easy for gyms to adopt and scale.

“This program is more than just yoga. It’s a comprehensive series crafted to bring various styles of yoga to every body, level, and mindset,” said Fraser Beck, co-creator of Les Mills Yoga.

“With mental well-being becoming a top priority for members, we wanted to make it simple for clubs to provide credible, effective offerings that resonate with modern fitness needs.”

Meeting the Growing Demand for Yoga

Yoga is firmly cementing its place as one of the most popular wellness approaches in the U.S. Its low-impact, inclusive nature draws people from diverse backgrounds seeking movement, mindfulness, and stress relief.

According to 2022 data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 6 adults practiced yoga in the prior year, with participation particularly high among women, high-income households, and adults aged 18 to 44.

Les Mills Yoga is tailored to satisfy this demand, offering four 45-minute formats rooted in traditional practice but infused with a modern fitness perspective. The series includes:

  • Yin for deep stretching and restoration.

  • Hatha to improve mobility and alignment.

  • Vinyasa for building strength and flexibility through continuous flow, and Les Mills Breath, a unique breathwork-focused session to enhance clarity, focus, and emotional relief.

The classes require no equipment—just a mat—making them accessible for all club members.

Strong Early Results

This new series has already shown promising success. Earlier this year, it was piloted at top Swedish gym chains like Nordic Wellness, STC, and Actic, earning impressive feedback.

Participant satisfaction hit an 86% approval rate, with 87% recommending the program to friends and 94% praising the instructors’ quality.

Sara Bohman, group training manager at STC, highlighted the impact of the initiative. “Yoga is an incredible opportunity for clubs, but it’s often difficult to fully tap into.

Les Mills simplified the process for us with high-quality, packaged programming, which allowed more instructors to get certified quickly.

The result has been incredible—we’re seeing 100% occupancy in yoga classes at some locations and bringing more members into our studios.”

Riding the Yoga Wave

Yoga’s popularity is surging across the fitness industry. Major players are responding by evolving their offerings:

  • YogaSix, part of Xponential Fitness, is seeing significant growth, especially among younger demographics, and has introduced a new mobility-focused class.

  • Hotworx reports record-breaking presales as it expands past its current 800-location footprint in the U.S. and internationally.

  • Yoga Joint, a heated yoga and fitness brand based in South Florida, is preparing for national franchise expansion with new investments.

Notably, even brands outside traditional studios are leveraging yoga’s influence.

CorePower Yoga has embraced wellness technology with Oura Ring integration for personalized class recommendations.

Meanwhile, YogaSix has partnered with iFIT to extend its digital content to millions, and premium activewear brand Beyond Yoga recently launched a platform with Issa Rae to expand its community reach.

A Holistic Approach for Gyms

Les Mills’ entry into the yoga space doesn’t just cater to member demand; it offers a fully scalable solution for gyms to seamlessly integrate mind-body programming.

By addressing barriers to participation and promoting mental and physical well-being, fitness facilities can better retain members and attract new ones.

“This program creates an environment where yoga feels accessible and impactful—it’s a game changer for clubs,” Bohman added.

With Les Mills Yoga, the line between movement and mindfulness is narrowing, making it easier than ever for both clubs and their members to fully benefit from the restorative power of yoga.

This marks another step in redefining fitness for the modern era.
