Actor Neha Dhupia, who recently made headlines for her significant weight loss, shared insights into her year-long transformation. 

As a mother of two, Neha emphasized that consistency, resilience, and determination were the keys to overcoming postpartum weight challenges.

Postpartum Weight Gain

The 43-year-old actress candidly discussed how her two pregnancies resulted in substantial weight gain.

Each time, she gained around 23-25 kgs, surpassing the usual 17 kg increase. “After giving birth to Mehr, we went into lockdown, which allowed me to lose weight at home through a controlled diet.

However, I gained it back during my second pregnancy,” Neha explained. She described the last four years as a cycle of losing and gaining weight, but stressed that she did not worry about her postpartum appearance during pregnancy.


Commitment to Health

Neha, soon to be seen in the film Bad News, did not start her weight loss immediately after delivery.

“Breastfeeding both my children for a year kept my appetite high and my energy levels low,” she said.

It was only a year ago that she seriously committed to exercise and a proper diet, resulting in a 23 kg weight loss.

“I haven’t reached my ideal weight and inch size yet, but I’m confident I will soon,” she added.


Professional Boost

Neha noted that her physical transformation had a positive impact on her career.

She felt much better and observed an increase in professional opportunities.

“Physical appearance is crucial in this industry, and despite the push for inclusivity, there’s still a preference for fit actors.

I’ve always embraced who I am, but now I feel and look better in my clothes," she said.


Balanced Lifestyle

Describing her current regimen, Neha highlighted the importance of balanced eating habits and regular exercise.

“I avoid drastic calorie deficits because I need the energy as a working mom.

I enjoy running and occasionally hitting the gym,” she said.

Her diet excludes sugar, fried foods, and gluten, but remains balanced. Although she doesn’t follow a strict intermittent fasting routine, her lifestyle naturally it.
