This weekend, the Nara Desert Camp in Al Ain was transformed into a two-day celebration of fitness and wellness.
Balancing my passion for fitness with my full-time role at Bazaar Arabia, I've experienced numerous classes and retreats across the UAE.
While I relish a vigorous spin class or yoga session against the stunning backdrop of the ocean, there's an undeniable magic in desert solitude during the golden hour, where the focus shifts to holistic well-being.
From April 27-28, the Nike Well Festival in Al Ain provided an ideal setting for mental and physical rejuvenation, underscoring the significance of self-care and health as we approach the post-Eid al-Fitr period.
The festival offered an array of activities, from sunset yoga to sound healing. Participants had the chance to sign up online for sessions emphasizing mindfulness, nutrition, and movement, among others.
The atmosphere was welcoming to all fitness levels, encouraging participation at one's own pace and comfort level ("It's your personal wellness journey," an organizer reassured me, sensing my hesitation towards a class).
Guests also had the opportunity to try on a pair of Nike trainers for their workouts, followed by relaxing conversations or grabbing a nutritious bite from Mama Rita’s pop-up stand.
With plenty of portable phone chargers, reusable water bottles, and hydration stations near the changing areas, Nike ensured attendees' needs were thoroughly met.
The fashion was as impressive as anticipated, showcasing a mix of retro tracksuits, oversized sweatshirts in vivid colors, soft yoga attire in gentle pastels, and eye-catching sneakers.
The event was a vivid reminder of Nike's longstanding influence in activewear, continually blending style with practicality.
