Sevens Focus: Unity and Fitness

Perseverance is what keeps Suliano Volivoli, a player for the Fiji Airways men's sevens team, motivated as he trains with the squad for the upcoming leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series.

Volivoli is well-acquainted with wearing the national jersey, having represented Fiji in multiple tournaments and serving as captain during the 2023 Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands.

Discussing the team's preparations for the Dubai 7s, Volivoli acknowledged that they faced challenges, but praised the team for overcoming them.

"During our training for the Dubai 7s, we've encountered numerous challenges, particularly regarding our fitness, but it's all about persevering as we aim to win," Volivoli said.

Despite these challenges, Volivoli remains determined that the team will strive to win the series opener.

He also shared that the squad has been getting along well during their camp, which has now been ongoing for three weeks.

"The team's progress has been very positive, and preparation has been excellent. We're focused on staying united and giving our best in the upcoming tournament," he stated.

Meanwhile, the training squad conducted a session at Bidesi Park in Laucala Bay, Suva yesterday, as they eagerly await the announcement of the national team that will compete in the Dubai 7s from November 29 to December 1.
