A sea of orange filled Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai as an impressive 226,000 people of all ages participated in the Dubai Run on Sunday morning, marking it as the largest event to date.

This event is a highlight of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, which was launched in 2017 by Dubai's Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Leading the race was Sheikh Hamdan himself, accompanied by UAE astronauts Sultan Al Neyadi and Hazza Al Mansouri.

The Dubai Run plays a significant role in the initiative aimed at making Dubai one of the most active cities globally, encouraging people to partake in 30 minutes of physical activity daily for a month.

Now in its fifth year, the Dubai Run is globally recognized, and it involves temporarily closing the 14-lane Sheikh Zayed Road to traffic for several hours during the event.

After the successful fun run, Sheikh Zayed Road was reopened to traffic a little after 10:00 am.
