Shilpa Shetty and John Abraham shared their fitness philosophies, emphasizing that maintaining a healthy diet is essential for overall well-being.
Known as two of the fittest stars in Bollywood, Shilpa and John are passionate about working out and leading a healthy lifestyle with balanced diets.
In a recent conversation, they discussed their approaches to diet and exercise, highlighting the idea that true fitness begins in the kitchen.
During an episode of "Shape of You," both actors sat down to discuss how crucial a healthy diet is to achieving fitness goals.
John likened fitness to a tripod, stating that good nutrition, regular exercise, and sufficient sleep are all necessary components. Without these three elements, one's fitness will undoubtedly suffer.
Shilpa stressed the significance of diet in maintaining fitness, saying, “I often say that 70 percent of fitness is determined by your diet. Abs are built in the kitchen.”
John concurred, adding, “I don't focus specifically on ab exercises, and I'm sure you don't either.”
Given the unpredictable nature of their schedules, Shilpa mentioned that she and other celebrities often don't have time for extensive exercise routines.
She explained, “People assume we spend hours doing planks and other exercises, but the key to consistency lies in nutrition.”
John further advised that adopting a simpler lifestyle can benefit one's health.
He suggested eliminating butter, sugar, and oil from the diet while incorporating Bajra (pearl millet), Jowar (sorghum), and Ragi (finger millet) rotis.
He advocated for living a more straightforward lifestyle, reminiscent of a farmer's.
During the discussion, John also shared the dietary changes he has made over the years.
He revealed that he hasn't indulged in his favorite sweet, kaju katli, in 27 years, and avoids carbonated beverages, calling sugar "the biggest poison."
He emphasized his preference for protein, love for peanut butter, and avoidance of dairy products.
