Sport Alliance, a Germany-based company specializing in cutting-edge software solutions and services for gyms and fitness centers, has appointed Alexandar Vassilev as its new CEO.
Vassilev takes over from Gregor Bieler, who is stepping down due to personal reasons.
Vassilev brings considerable global leadership expertise to the role.
Previously, he served as CEO of WeTransfer, where he led the platform’s expansion and drove significant international growth.
His career has also included senior positions at Joyn and Google, spanning both Europe and the US.
These roles have provided him with extensive knowledge in digital platforms, product innovation, and technology-focused business transformations.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Vassilev said, “I’m excited to join Sport Alliance at such a pivotal time for the business and the fitness industry.
With my passion for digital innovation and a strong commitment to our customers’ success, I’m eager to build on Sport Alliance’s solid foundation and drive further growth and global expansion.”
Earlier in May 2024, Sport Alliance acquired Perfect Gym Solutions, a global software company serving fitness and leisure businesses.
This acquisition has bolstered Sport Alliance’s team and enhanced its international capabilities, allowing the company to deliver greater digital innovation to fitness and leisure facilities worldwide.
Together, the combined organization stands as a leading software provider, servicing prominent fitness chains.
Sport Alliance now works with 14 of Europe’s top 30 chains, leads the leisure center market in Australia, and supports over 130 international chains in 55 countries.
Some of its notable clients include FitX, Fitness First (LifeFit Group), McFIT (RSG Group), clever fit, GoodLife Fitness, GymNation, Revo Fitness, SportCity, and Bodystreet.
The company’s product portfolio includes Magicline, one of Europe’s top membership management ERP solutions for the fitness industry, helping studio operators digitize and optimize their operations.
Additionally, Sport Alliance offers MySports, a platform designed to elevate the gym experience for members, and Finion Financial Solutions, a service provider focused on helping fitness studios efficiently manage membership fees, including billing and debt collection.
