From morning to evening, numerous community members across the UAE observed International Yoga Day 2025 with enthusiasm and vigor on Saturday.

The global theme, "Yoga for One Earth, One Health," brought together people from diverse nationalities, cultures, and even their furry friends in a shared celebration of wellness.

Harmony and Leadership in Abu Dhabi

At the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, participated in a large-scale yoga session.

Organized by the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, attendees from various backgrounds practiced yoga under expert trainers from multiple schools and disciplines.

Adding a celebrity flair, Indian tennis icon and Dubai resident Sania Mirza joined participants, contributing to the lively atmosphere.

 

Yoga at the Louvre Abu Dhabi

Later in the day, the Indian Embassy hosted another yoga session at the iconic Louvre Abu Dhabi.

"The stunning backdrop of the museum inspired participants to embody the true essence of yoga for harmony and wellness," stated the embassy.

Indian Ambassador to the UAE, Sunjay Sudhir, led both sessions with great enthusiasm.

 

 

Paw-sitive Vibes with Puppy Yoga

At Jumeirah Saadiyat Island, a unique Puppy Yoga session captured hearts.

Experts highlighted how practicing yoga alongside pets not only enhances physical fitness but also boosts emotional wellness, creating a bonding experience for both humans and animals.

 

Dynamic Celebrations Across Dubai

Dubai embraced International Yoga Day by converting landmarks, schools, parks, malls, and yoga studios into spaces promoting well-being.

Tailored sessions for all ages and fitness levels underscored yoga’s broad appeal and inclusivity, drawing participants from across the city.

 

Mega Event at Expo Centre Sharjah

The Indian Consulate in Dubai organized a significant event at Expo Centre Sharjah, with over 5,000 attendees coming together.

Consul General of India in Dubai, Satish Kumar Sivan, led the session alongside community members, further emphasizing yoga's unifying power.

 

Yoga and Ayurveda in Sharjah

Sharjah’s Emirates Ayurveda Graduates Association (EAGA), in cooperation with the Indian Association Sharjah (IAS), hosted a wellness-focused event that merged yoga practices with Ayurveda awareness.

Participants also benefited from a complimentary health camp featuring consultations and screenings, blending ancient traditions with modern wellness.

 

Fujairah’s Commitment to Yoga

The Dubai Consulate collaborated with the Indian Social Club in Fujairah to hold a yoga session centered around the Common Yoga Protocol.

Residents participated in the event, which spotlighted yoga's transformative nature and its significant impact on physical and mental well-being.
