WHAT IS BODYPUMP?

BODYPUMP is a barbell workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned, and fit – fast.

Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. It will burn up to 540 calories*. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically proven moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.

How should I prepare for a BODYPUMP class?

It’s best if you wear comfortable workout clothes and a good quality pair of trainers as you will be working up a serious sweat in the class! Don’t forget a good-sized bottle of water and of course your sweat towel. Your bar, weights and equipment will all be supplied and your instructor will help if you are unsure.

Do I need to be really strong and fit already?

The answer is no, but this class will definitely get you strong and fit, so ideally, attend regularly. The BODYPUMP instructors cater for all levels of ability from beginner to advanced. If you are new it is best to start with lighter weights and each week try adding a little weight.

How many times should I partake in the BODYPUMP class?

BODYPUMP is an excellent workout that targets every muscle in your body. To maximise the benefits of this class we recommend you attend at least twice a week and ensure you have a rest day in between sessions. Make sure you vary your training too such as cardio days and you will get in excellent shape.

If I am pregnant can I still do BODYPUMP?

Firstly, consult with your doctor or health professional about your pregnancy as they will advise you, given your medical history if you are safe to continue with the class. If you get the green light, always let your BODYPUMP instructor know so they can make the necessary alterations for you to remain safe in the class.
