Dubai Municipality has launched new recreational plazas in Lehbab (1), Lehbab (2), and Nazwah, adding community spaces designed for movement, family time, and everyday activity.
The plazas cover more than 330,000 square feet and feature modern sports courts suitable for different ages, plus children’s play areas and outdoor fitness equipment.
The project supports the Dubai Countryside and Rural Areas Development Master Plan, which aims to preserve the natural character of rural areas while improving quality of life for residents and visitors.
It also aligns with the Dubai 2040 Parks and Afforestation Strategy, which targets the development of more than 630 parks to improve the urban environment, reduce heat emissions, and strengthen sustainability.
What these plazas include
Across the three locations, the upgrades focus on practical, family-friendly infrastructure:

Why this matters for everyday fitness
Not everyone wants a structured training plan every day. Spaces like these make it easier to stay active without overthinking it:
-
A walking or running track removes barriers to consistent cardio
-
Courts turn “exercise” into a social activity
-
Outdoor equipment supports quick strength sessions for beginners
-
Kids’ zones help families move together, not separately
It’s also a useful reminder that fitness doesn’t have to be confined to a gym. A weekly routine can mix outdoor movement with structured indoor training when you want coaching, equipment variety, and consistency.

A simple 20-minute “plaza workout” anyone can do
You can use the running track plus outdoor equipment without needing a complex plan:
Warm-up (3 minutes)
Easy walk, gentle leg swings, arm circles.
Main session (14 minutes)
Repeat 2–3 rounds at a comfortable pace:
-
1 minute brisk walk or light jog
-
10–12 bodyweight squats (or sit-to-stand from a bench)
-
8–12 incline push-ups on a bench
-
30–45 seconds plank (or standing core brace if needed)
Cool down (3 minutes)
Slow walk + relaxed breathing.
Heat, hydration, and safety in outdoor spaces
Outdoor activity is great, but Dubai conditions require smart habits:
-
Train during cooler hours when possible
-
Build intensity gradually if you’re new to exercise
-
Hydrate consistently throughout the day, not only during workouts

What’s next in the wider plan
Dubai Municipality also confirmed that Margham and Al Lisaili parks are under development, with features such as football pitches, sand running tracks, landscaped seating areas, decorative planting, advanced lighting, and smart surveillance cameras for safety. Volleyball courts have already opened in the first phase.
