F45 Adds Hyrox Workouts with New Partnership

As an official training partner, F45 studios globally can now provide their members with Hyrox workouts, special race access, and additional benefits.

Both brands excel in creating innovative functional training sessions.

Hyrox, known for its fitness racing expertise, and F45 Training, famous for its 45-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) sessions, share many similarities.

They have recently collaborated, signing a two-year agreement with F45 becoming Hyrox’s official training partner.

This partnership will introduce Hyrox workouts to members at all participating F45 studios, except those in Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.

Weekly Hyrox signature workouts will be available to F45 members, whether they plan to participate in future Hyrox races or simply want a new workout experience. Additionally, F45 members can join exclusive 'Hyrox x F45 Training Run Clubs' and enjoy early-bird sign-ups for races.

“Given F45 Training’s leadership in studio-led functional exercise and high-intensity interval training, Hyrox is an ideal complement, as it integrates both elements innovatively and refreshingly,” said Tom Dowd, CEO of F45.

 “As we collaborate closely, we foresee opportunities for ongoing global growth, supporting communities in reaching their health and fitness aspirations,” Dowd added.

Hyrox launched in 2017 and held its inaugural event a year later. The brand conducts races typically hosted indoors in large exhibition halls, featuring eight cycles of one-kilometer runs, each interspersed with functional workouts such as sled pushes, farmer’s carries, and sandbag lunges.

The COVID-19 pandemic posed significant challenges to Hyrox during its early years, given its mass-participation indoor events. Nevertheless, Hyrox persevered, hosting events in over 60 cities worldwide as of last year.

Christian Toetzke, Hyrox founder and CEO, has expressed to Athletech News that the brand aspires to become the "marathon of fitness," offering an experience similar to mass-participation running events but tailored for gym enthusiasts.

Toronto is next on the brand’s schedule, with Hyrox announcing its first-ever race in Canada, set for October 2024.

Over the past five years, Hyrox has experienced a 1,081% growth, a 233% year-on-year increase in Google searches, and 55.6 million TikTok views under the #hyrox hashtag. As of February 2024, the race is affiliated with over 2,500 gyms globally.

The collaboration with F45, one of the leading brands in boutique fitness, is expected to further boost this momentum.
