There are days when all of us think to ourselves, ‘can I really be bothered to use my gym membership and go and train or exercise today’? It’s a common thing because exercise is demanding and you won't always be in the mood for some fitness in Dubai, but still there are ways out this hole.

So, is there a solution to this lack of motivation? How do you lift yourself up out of the little pit of despair you’ve gotten yourself into? Luckily there are a number of things you can do to help yourself as well as taking advantage of a free gym trial Dubai to get you going!

Has your get up and go got up and gone? Let's get it back with the solutions below…

Set a goal

Just having a gym membership isn’t always enough. One of the main reasons people fail or give up on their fitness journeys is because they have no goals. Having no goal can be hugely detrimental to your journey.

If you have no goal then what is it you are working towards? A goal can be as basic or as complex as you want it to be! It can be anything from running a marathon to competing on a bodybuilding stage, to shedding a few pounds or simply to improve your fitness levels by improving your resting heart rate. Set your goal and work towards it, every training session will count.

Track your success

Tracking your success is key to keeping you on track with your weight loss or fitness goals. If you don’t, then how can you tell if you are improving or not? Tracking your success can be as basic or as complex as you want it to be.

On a basic level you can purchase a diary and each week you can use it to write down your progress. This can be recording your weight loss each week, recording your muscular measurements or it can be recording your running distance each week or how many times you’ve exercised.

Tracking progress like this means you hold yourself accountable and you can see yourself improving which helps to keep you motivated.

If you are more of a technology lover than you can enjoy a big range of free, downloadable apps where you can keep track of your workouts, numbers and weight loss.

Wearable fitness technology

Track your fitness Dubai with some wearable fitness technology. Wearable fitness technology is a wonderful way to keep yourself feeling motivated and on top of your game. There are some awesome fitness trackers out there by many different brands and companies. Most of them you can wear on your wrist so you can keep an eye on what you’re doing. A fitness tracker can tell you a range of different things from calories burned, to steps taken to CO2 and everything in between!

Your fitness tracker will let you know if your fitness is improving, you can track how far you’ve gone and a whole load of other things! They can even suggest workouts for you. If you are feeling a little uninspired then investing in a good fitness tracker might be exactly what you need. A fitness tracker is the perfect accomplice to your gym membership as it keeps you accountable and it's a fantastic way to log your workouts and food consumption.

Get enough sleep

Are you getting enough sleep? When you sleep, your body has a chance to repair and recover. Those tired, broken and aching muscle fibers will heal and your nervous system will get a chance to recuperate. Exercising can better your immune system, which is why it's so important to get enough sleep. If you don’t get enough sleep, you may end up feeling fatigued, unmotivated and tired out. There is nothing to benefit from totally burning yourself out. You need to learn to rest and recover.

Both your sleep and emotional health are strongly interconnected. Statistics from the Harvard Medical School have reported that even short-term, partial sleep loss can negatively affect your mood, outlook, and the quality of your most important relationships.

Have you pushed so far you’ve got adrenaline fatigue?

Adrenaline fatigue is something you may have which is sucking the motivation right out of you.

But what is it and what are the symptoms? Adrenal fatigue is a term that's used by some to say that fatigue and other symptoms are caused by a poorly working adrenal gland in people who are under mental, emotional, or physical stress.

Symptoms of adrenaline fatigue include difficulty getting up in the morning, a lack of ability to handle stress, regular and unexplained fatigue, mild depression, insomnia and the overuse of stimulants such as caffeine.

Does this sound like you at all? To combat the effects take plenty of B vitamins; enjoy full rest days from training and exercising. Also make sure you are getting plenty of sleep.

Ultimately, you are only human and everyone at times loses their ‘mojo’ where they don't feel motivated and need a bit of a kick. The most important part of staying on track is having a goal. If you haven’t got a goal then you haven’t got a reason to stay motivated. Whatever your reason for your lack of motivation, it can be fixed. There are a number of reasons why you might not feel as though you can get up and sort things out, and sometimes getting up and going to the gym is easier said than done.

The control is there for you though to turn things around and make things work again, from goal setting, fitness trackers and workout diaries to a good night's sleep; Make sure you’ve covered all of these areas to give yourself the best shot at success.
