Raven Chapman is on the verge of making history as she gears up to take on Skye Nicholson for the WBC Featherweight Championship on October 12th.

This eagerly awaited match, part of the Riyadh Season "IV Crown Showdown" event, is culturally significant as it is the first women's World Championship fight to be held in Saudi Arabia.

"I’m thrilled to be part of history," Raven expressed with contagious enthusiasm.

"It’s the first women’s world title fight there for the Riyadh Season. I’m grateful for the chance to showcase my skills on such a grand stage with a larger audience. I believe many people will appreciate my style."

Raven's style is indeed captivating. She combines pressure, ring control, and strategic intelligence, making her a crowd favorite.

"I think it's my tenacity, my movement, and the fact that I can box well. I'm not just another opponent that Skye has faced who only moves forward, lacks head movement, or can't cut the ring," the IBO #5 explained.

Raven is vocal about her confidence in her ring intelligence. After defending her WBC International belt four times, she's been promoting her skill set loudly.

Her efforts have paid off, earning her a chance at the full WBC World Championship title on Riyadh Season, the world's premier boxing stage.

"I know how to cut the ring and control a fight aggressively. That's why I think I'm exciting to watch. It’s like the matador versus the bull. Those are the truly thrilling fights to watch."

The Chapman vs. Nicholson fight is more than a title clash; it highlights the global progress in women's boxing.

"Being the first women on the Riyadh season, they needed a big fight. Right now in women's boxing, a fight between me and Skye is highly anticipated.

Two undefeated fighters in their prime aiming for glory. The styles make this an exciting match."

Raven has observed the growth of women's boxing firsthand in the UK and America, where the sport has gained traction over the last five years.

"More young people see women fighting and competing for world titles. It shows that the opportunity is there."

Her training in Saudi Arabia revealed the region's potential for growth. "Training at a gym in Saudi Arabia was great, seeing many young girls participating in boxing classes.

It shows progress in the right direction. Being part of that is fantastic. Hopefully, it will inspire young girls to take up boxing, sport, and fitness; that's a major reason we do what we do."

Raven's time in Saudi Arabia also allowed her to connect with the culture and its people. "The people were so friendly and supportive of women empowerment.

You could see how proud they are of their daughters," she recalled. "It was wonderful to experience another culture and see their progress."

"In Saudi, there were plenty of great activities, amazing food, and we had a wonderful time. I enjoyed it, especially being in a warm place!"

For Raven, the WBC belt is more than a title—it's the culmination of her boxing journey. "It's such a prestigious belt, so it's an honor for me.

I fought for the WBC as one of my first titles, which was amazing. Now I'm finally getting the chance to upgrade to the bigger one."

Determined and focused, she's ready to seize the moment. "I really want that belt around my waist, so I’ve got to grab it with both hands. It's definitely something I want."

In her corner, Raven will have a supportive team she values deeply. "Having my dad, coach, and cutman—who are like best friends and brothers—in my corner is great.

They truly have my back and look out for me, with the best intentions. I'm lucky to have them."

As the historic fight approaches, all eyes will be on Raven Chapman as she steps into the ring, poised to leave her mark on the world stage and inspire future generations of young girls—from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire to Kingdom Arena, Saudi Arabia.
