In essence, ClassPass is a monthly fitness subscription service. It allows its users a flexible, manageable way to find and pay for the classes they want, where and when they want. ClassPass subscribers gain access to tens of thousands of different studios, gyms, and wellness offerings worldwide, with participating venues in thousands of cities including Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

With each subscription, you get a number of monthly credits. The amount will depend on your plan and location, as well as any promotions ClassPass might be running at any one time. You can use your credits to book into eligible classes wherever you happen to be. These classes can cover everything – from circuit training in London to CrossFit classes in Dubai, to Pilates to martial arts, from yoga to Les Mills BodyPump to HIIT, across the seven continents, it all becomes available.

The pass itself

ClassPass membership allows you to easily visit any of their venues all over the world.

ClassPass subscriptions are available in over 2,500 cities around the world. You can use your ClassPass membership to take classes anywhere in which people are holding participating events or running participating venues.

Anybody can sign up for a ClassPass membership. However, it works particularly well for a few groups of people.

If you have to travel a lot but don’t want to miss out on a healthy, active lifestyle, this could be perfect for you. Whether you’re regularly away on business, live a jet-setting lifestyle, or simply live between places, ClassPass may be the answer you’re looking for. It is perfect for travellers looking to keep fit.

ClassPass is also perfect for those who stay largely in one place, but who like to change things up a bit. If you want access to a wide range of classes and venues so that you can keep things fresh and try out something new every week, ClassPass’ flexibility may be just the ticket you need.

Regional differences

It’s worth noting that credit values may be more or less in different cities, with regional differences that may make it different to what you see in your home city.

There is a list of studios available in each city on their website. For local venues, check these out:

ClassPass have organised their offerings by location and activity, meaning that you should always be able to find what you want, where you want, with full access and no stress.

To check out classes available where you are, follow these steps:

  1. On the website:
    • Go to the search page.
    • Search by city, neighbourhood, or post code to find studios nearby.
    • For instance, type in ‘Dubai’ or ‘Abu Dhabi’ for classes in these cities, then simply scroll through them all until you find what will work best for you.
  2. On the app:
    • Tap the ‘Find a class’ tab on the bottom of the screen.
    • In the ‘Near’ search box, you can search by current location, city, neighborhood, or zip code to find classes nearby.

ClassPass credits

You can go directly through your ClassPass account to use your credits. Finding and attending classes then becomes incredibly easy, with credits allowing you to choose which classes and sessions you would like to reserve, in what venues, across a full range of different exercise styles and disciplines.

The number of credits you have to play with each month depends on the membership plan you sign up for, meaning that hard-core types who like to train everyday can do so, whilst those who want to attend a class or two per week won’t be charged above the odds.

You should always be able to get exactly what you want and need out of ClassPass because of this flexibility.

Different classes and studios will charge a different number of credits per class – just as they would charge different amounts of money per class. As with regular class attendance, they can charge different amounts based on variations in class time, studio, location, booking time and class popularity.

Your own loyalty to one particular studio, and the location of the places you’re looking into, can have a big impact on price. It’s always a good idea to do some research, find the best deals for you, and keep an eye on regional variation as you travel.

It’s always a good idea to book early in order to reserve the classes you want, which is simply to do.

Looking for off-peak sessions in smaller gyms and studios is also always a good idea, as these are very likely to give you the same kinds of workouts with much greater value for money, spreading your credits out so they work best for you.

Remember to check out ClassPass Dubai, UAE and Abu Dhabi for local classes and sessions.
