The Dubai Fitness Challenge a challenge, and the challenge is simple. In their own words:

‘complete 30 minutes of activity each day for 30 days. Dubai Fitness Challenge helps create a fitness-focused mindset and inspires us all to seek healthy, active lifestyles. With a month-long calendar of free workouts, exciting fitness events and wellness-centric entertainment, there’s always plenty of inspiration to keep moving.’

The Dubai Fitness Challenge

The Dubai Fitness Challenge consists of a full month packed with exciting fitness events and wellness-focused entertainment, including the famous Dubai 30 x 30.

It is open to everybody in the city and requires all those taking part to complete 30 minutes of activity every day for 30 days, making use of thousands of free fitness classes and activities to do so. In fact, this year, there will be two hundred virtual classes and over two thousand wellness and fitness events, spread over a hundred and fifty locations!

However, it doesn’t end after 30 days. The Dubai 30 x 30 should also be habit forming: the challenge is about creating a long-term impact that will stay with you for years to come. It encourages an overall lifestyle change for those who take part.

Dubai wants to focus on the happiness of its residents- and what better way to create happiness than to encourage a healthier lifestyle for each and every person in the city? The challenge is about more than simple getting active. It’s about promoting a lifestyle that is well-rounded and all-inclusive, enabling people to explore something new, push themselves further and discover more about the city they live in.

Aiming to get Dubai residents moving, galvanising them towards a fitter, more active, healthier lifestyle, the Dubai Fitness Challenge was launched in 2017 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council.

For last year’s challenge, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum called on everybody who was able to take on the challenge and make fitness a part of daily life to get involved, as he aimed to make the UAE ‘the most active country in the world’.

‘The return of Dubai Fitness Challenge is a testament to the emirate’s resilience and its commitment to rebuild a stronger and happier society by embracing the benefits of fitness and wellness habits,’ he said. ‘When we create the right habits and make them a part of our lives, we have the opportunity to truly transform ourselves.

Dubai, as a city, ‘recognises the importance of physical, mental and social well-being, and constantly strives to provide everyone opportunities for an active lifestyle,’ Sheikh Hamdan continued. ‘All it takes for you to succeed is an unyielding pledge to enjoy 30 minutes of activity for 30 days.’

‘I challenge each and every one of you to embrace your fitness journey and make a difference in your life. Together, let’s make the UAE the most active country in the world.’

It all starts by simply committing to 30 minutes of activity for 30 consecutive days. You can get involved as an individual, corporate, team, partner or sponsor by downloading the Dubai Fitness App (see below) and sharing your journey on various social media platforms.

Fitness Hubs

The Dubai 30 x 30 is easier to complete than ever, as we see the return of the Dubai Fitness Challenge’s Fitness Hubs.

These ten hotspots were first set up a couple of years ago. They were dotted around the city and aimed at giving diverse communities access to a full range of training styles, workouts and health and fitness education. Activities including yoga, Pilates, boxing, Zumba and many more were made available, alongside large classes on wellness-related content like nutrition and healthy living.

The Dubai Fitness Challenge App

We will also be seeing the return of the Dubai Fitness Challenge app, which revolutionised the way in which Dubai residents were able to navigate and access the Dubai Fitness Challenge when it was first introduced. The app contains everything users need to know about classes and events. It also features trackers and other gadgets to make the 30x30 challenge more doable, more engaging, and more rewarding than ever.
