Abu Dhabi Sports Council Wins 6 Awards at 2023 Ceremony

The Abu Dhabi Sports Council secured six awards at the 2023 Middle East Sports Industry Awards, held at Atlantis Hotel in Dubai.

The event featured various sports leaders, decision-makers, sponsors, and partners from the Middle East and the UAE.

The Coach program clinched gold for Best Academic Sports Program as did the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon 2023 for Best Fan Engagement at a Professional Sports Event.

The Abu Dhabi 360 program also took gold for Best Use of Tech in Sports.

Additionally, the UAE Tour 2023 won bronze for Best Sports Marketing Campaign, the World Triathlon Abu Dhabi 2023 received bronze for Best Sports Event (Budget USD 3 Million & Above), and the UAE Tour Women 2023 earned silver for Best Sports Event (Budget Under USD 3 Million).

The Abu Dhabi Sports Council launched The Coach program in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Supreme Council for Motherhood & Childhood, the UAE National Anti-Doping Committee, and the National Ambulance, along with several sports federations.

This initiative aims to develop a new training foundation across 12 sports, qualify and graduate 400 coaches and trainers, and empower training personnel in the emirate.

The program also seeks to provide accredited licenses and certificates in line with international best practices and supports physical education teachers in both public and private schools, as well as those in private academies with an interest in training.

Organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and ADNOC, the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon 2023's fifth edition saw participation from more than 25,000 runners, both male and female, representing 168 countries globally.

The Abu Dhabi 360 app is designed to help Abu Dhabi residents adopt a healthier lifestyle on physical, mental, and social levels through personalized journeys that redefine physical fitness and mental health.

Its advanced technology utilization makes it a standout program.

The Abu Dhabi Sports Council also organized the fifth edition of the UAE Tour 2023, featuring 20 professional international teams and top global cyclists. This event is the only worldwide cycling race held in the Middle East.

In collaboration with the International Triathlon Federation, the council hosted the World Triathlon Abu Dhabi 2023, marking the opening of the international triathlon championship season from March 3-4, 2023.

The event saw significant participation across various race categories suited to different physical abilities.

The first edition of the UAE Tour Women 2023 enjoyed remarkable success, with 20 international and continental teams and top female cyclists worldwide competing across four stages in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra.

Established in 2012, the Middle East Sports Industry Awards recognize leaders, decision-makers, organizations, facilities, and campaigns that have significantly contributed to sports development in the Middle East, based on criteria such as teamwork, professionalism, commercialism, vision, and strategic planning.
